Portfolio Defense

Granted there were a few promises I was trying to complete that did not get finished, I still did add a bit of intellectual content to my blog. I have added a conscience post about life and its problems and a bunch of other goodies. Altogether I have gotten rid of the old and gotten in with the new. It is mainly much cleaner, and much more fun to navigate instead of being a giant tongue twister for your train.

Morgan High vs America?

This incident at Morgan Hill High school has a lot of people expressing their opinions. What happen was these boy decided to come to school dress upped with the American flag all over their clothes on Cinco De Mayo. Apparently people were insulted and the boys were forced to go home.

My opinion on this is quite reasonable. I believe very strongly in people expressing their freedoms and natural rights. People have every right to wear whatever their community deems proper to wear in public. But being criticized for wearing the American flag on an American holiday (because Cinco De mayo is an AMERICAN holiday) is just ridiculous. If I were to come across a person wearing their swastika on their shirt I couldn’t do a single thing about it because that is their right and I wouldn’t want someone to take away my free right to wear something. Our American flag stands for those rights given to us. It Stands for our freedom to wear our American flags, freedom to petition the government, freedom to BURN THE FLAG for Christ’s sake. Go ahead and be offended but I would not apologize if I did this. There are ideas that these boys did this to piss off the celebrating Mexicans but no one knows it except those boys so I suggest just dropping it because in this country, our rights are free and inevitable and no matter what someone is always gonna get pissed off.

In a perfect world

Before I begin this little post, let me explain. I have recently just finished a book called “Brave New world” by Aldous Huxley. This book is about a perfect world where everyone is born out of jars, have no mother, father or families, and is destined to be either an Alpha, a Beta, a Gamma, a Delta, or an Epsilon. Alphas being the big dog and Epsilons being the low lives. These people are conditioned to be who they are and are never sad or unhappy or have to face any hard challenges that normal life would allow to happen. And when life isnt all that great they turn to a lovely drug called soma. This little pill makes happy. I say more about what happens but I might spoil the book. I am going to give an example of a “normal” conversation that would occur in this perfect society.

“Hullo”

“Hullo”

“Lets fly to the feelies, and maybe afterwards we can indulge ourselves in some lovely beef and champagne surrogate.”

“Sounds pneumatic, let me grab my contraceptive belt and soma and we’ll catch a helicopter.”

Translation?

“Hi”

“hi”

“would you like to go to the movies and get dinner with me?”

The terms used in this book are nothing more then people wanting to indulge in sexual fantasies with millions of other people. This world has a rule. “everybody belongs to everybody else.” This is such a horribly sluttish display of lust and polygamy that its disgusting. It isn’t even monogamy! They don’t get married, its technically frowned upon and considered smut. I find this world so outrageous that if I were to fall upon it I would want to hang myself. Life would absolutely suck if I were to live like that. I want the hard grievances of the real world, I want to love with passion and to have someone for my whole life. why bother living feeling like a slut when anyone can have you whenever they wanted. Just popping a pill and wishing all your problems away is no way to live. Deal with it and be happy with how you are. so what if you’re not a blond haired, blue eyes, milky skinned supermodel type. You can be perfect just the way you are no matter what someone may want you to be. Individuality is stability and instability in the world is everyone’s mission. Because no one wants to be the same as another.

Dead babies for a quick buck

The government has recently recalled thousands upon thousands of cribs from the Simplicity and Graco companies. These cribs have been recalled for their extremely unsafe frames and how they are known for having poor assembly and the ability to collapse and trap or suffocate small babies. Me, personally, when it comes to thinking about little babies getting hurt and suffocating I think to myself..”how does a crib meant for small children pass a safety test when it can easily collapse and kill a kid?” who did these companies have to pay to get these cribs on the market. Its amazing how someone will be willing to take a life or two for a quick buck. way to go charlatans.

Size: smaller is better?

So currently i am on this tiny little laptop and I’m thinking to myself…”why so tiny?” now the size of this little machine is so intriguing me and I am truly ecstatic with this little contraption but one has to wonder why the size in pieces of ttechnology and beginning to get smaller and smaller. If you look st some things like TV remotes, now people have the option to have a remote as small as a car remote for popping the trunk or something. Ipod shuffles are now as big as your thumb…. why is this? could it be for the convenience of others or just for the simple fact that we hate all the extra room these things take up? Is there a technological advantage… or is there even a point all? One has to wonder…

Creeping me out

Picture 1

Think about something that is unusual might give you a funny feeling like you just want to shoo that thing away with a broom…. Have you ever felt that way? I know I have. The concept of me being creeped out in totally normal for me. I am a very weird person who is creeped out by almost anything. But why do people get freaked out in the first place? I always wonder myself and instead of going on with some mystic scientific mumbo jumbo I’ll go with my own idea. I believe people are creeped out because they are encountering something that they are not familiar with. some that has not been exposed to them would make them feel a little iffy.  If you were to be walking across the street and see an owner being walked by his dog and his dog wearing an overcoat and walking on two legs… you’d be a bit weirded out by that too wouldn’t you. The concept of fear and being creeped out is all about being unfamiliar to something. Other people may have been exposed to something weird and are creeped out by you and the fact that you are so normal. So here’s a challenge…. think about what creeps you out and how someone else might be okay with it because it is normal. You may be surprised with what you think.

I’m Not here but I’m Not A Racist

Let me share with you a story of my experience of being a minority. When I was a freshman in my high school career, I moved to Phoenix Arizona in the second semester of school. My dad had told me hat he was doing this and the thought of moving to a new place intrigued me. I didn’t have many friends at my current school I was attending, and the friends I had didn’t make me very happy. so I decided that I would go with him and start a new life in this new place.

It was very hot and very dry, the house we lived in belonged to my uncle. He was gone most of the time so it was practically our house. The neighborhood was right on the edge of a very broken down ghetto in the south end of phoenix right next to  South Mountain. The stores closest to my house were broken down and run very poorly. One place had roaches. It wasn’t the best but it was what there was.

The school I went to was also in the middle of a very creepy neighborhood. When it was my first day at South Mountain High School I was very scared because it was so big. It was an indoor school so the hallways were very quite and my dad and I made our way to the office. My counselor was a big Mexican man who had a very heavy accent. He gave me my books, took my picture, and gave me my ID card. Having glasses didn’t make me feel to well because people stared at me. But there was also another reason they were staring at me….The schools population was made up of mostly Mexican and black teenagers. I was one of the very small population of white people who attended this school. People were nice to me but one class made me feel very uncomfortable.

Instead of PE we had to take a health education class where we learned about STDs and sex and other things anatomical. My teacher was black. And she hated white people. I was the ONLY white kid in my class. Granted she was perfectly professional in being nice to everyone, she sure did talk about the white man a lot. “Don’t let the white man get you down! They are nothing but a bunch of stupid racist bastards who steal our money ,take our jobs, and make fun of us.” I would sink into my desk an pretend I wasn’t there. Granted I am no racists. I only believe that you should be allowed to live here if you have proof of citizenship. And that is a perfectly reasonable opinion. But I am not a  racist.

Just because someone belongs to a race with a difficult or prejudice past does not make them prejudice and horrible to other races. If I was “The White Man” they were all referring to so much. I would have stood up and told the whole class to go screw themselves and thrown something at them. The point is, if you are a teacher, keep your opinions to yourself, and if you happen to be not included in the lesson plan and feel choked by everyone Else’s culture and don’t get a single glimpse of your own, stand up and say something. I almost hated myself because everyone hated me for being whitey.

Look Mom! I can deliver babies now!

Picture 5

Honestly, when I was nine years old, all i was doing what eating marshmallows while sitting in front of the t.v. watching my loony toons. Nothing else. I was a pretty normal kid. But if My mom were to come into the room screaming and telling me and my sister that she was having a baby….I’D FREAK! I’d start screaming “Mom mom! What do I do! Oh my god I’m so scared!!! Help me help me!” This was obviously not a case for two children of ages 9 and 11.

These two kids, named Faith and Jabari, were actually the doctors and delivered their baby brother and even tied off the snapped cord. They are not only miracle workers, but life savers, because if they hadn’t called 911 their little brother probably would have been hurt because of the snapped cord.

I just cant believe this stuff. These are little kids ten or nine years younger than me deliver a frickin kid! Being calm and collected while doing this was the impossible thing but they obviously had no problem with it. and since their mom was known for quick labors, one push was all it took and “pop”. Out goes a little baby boy. I truly tip my hat to these bad ass kids for having such bravey and helping their mom deliver their brother into the world.

Tyler Perry Intellectual hour

So I was watching a movie the other day and I realized as I was crying my eyes out is how great life can be…or how much it can suck. The movie was one of Tyler Perry masterpieces “Madea’s Family Reunion”. Now when it comes to a Tuler Pery production there is usually a sotry inside the story. The stories are of a little girl who never knew her dad, and her mom is in jail. she gets adopted by Madea and begins to improve her attitude towards others.

The Second story, which is the real tear jerker is of two half sisters who have never gotten the same treatment from their mother. Vanessa is hated and never appreciated because the mother believes she’s holding a grudge for nothing when in reality, in order to save her marriage which still failed, let her ex husband rape her. The other daughter, lisa, is about to be married to a man she doesnt even love and who beats her every day becasue she wants to leave him. he even threatens to throw her off a balcony.

In the end, we ahve a rehabilitated teen, a hurt daughter who find a man who she wants to love her, a grit covered, burnt wife beater, and a free woman all in one lovely weekend at the Madea household.

My views on the subject of this movie are strong and there is no shaking them.
(1) If you think you can never do something, if you cant accomplish anything, look at how people all over the world get through disasters eevry day and still find the courage to smile.
(2) if you’re a wife beater, you deserve to be hit with a frying pan and have hot, boiling grits dumped on your head. beating someone you “love” is not right at all. you have no excuse if you beat a woman. Hell should have a special spot next to the dark throne for all you wife beaters and child molesters.
(3) If you find someone who loves you and makes you happy, dont let your past get in the wya. If they love you, they’ll let you know that you have nothing to be afraid of. If they love you, they’ll treat you right and keep you safe. when the oppurtunity comes, dont be afraid, love hard.
